Ethan was inspired on the path that led him to practice of gongfu and Chinese Medicine after suffering a life-threatening spontaneous pneumothorax at the age of 14. He underwent a surgical intervention that most likely saved his life but left him debilitated. Searching for methods to regain full health led him first to Chinese gongfu and then to his teacher Vince Black, who taught him not only xingyi and bagua but also Chinese osteopathy, acupuncture and herbal medicine.

Bertrand Loranger

Bertrand Loranger has been practicing as an acupuncturist for ten years. Initially the founder of one of the first community acupuncture clinics in Quebec, on the Plateau, he joined the Montreal Gongfu Research Center in 2019, where he integrated tuina as the core of his practice. He also combines the classical acupuncture approach of Jeffrey Yuen with the postural moxibustion method of Felip Caudet. Whether you are seeking treatment for musculoskeletal pain or internal imbalances, the sessions are conceived as a space of encounter and dialogue, aiming to foster a connection with the body from a holistic and somatic perspective: how can you approach your body as a ground for personal realization and emotional resolution?

Anna Mayberry
